Daily Painting in Maine - By the beautiful Sea

Last week I drove over to  the Rockland Breakwater Light to see the parade of windjammers. I got there a little early so I would get a parking space close by. While I waited for the ships to arrive I did a small plein  air painting at the beginning of the breakwater.

The breakwater is almost a mile long and ending at the lighthouse.
The  ships passed within yards of  us, so I was able to get a bunch of good reference shots.  Of course 80% will be deleted.

When I got back to the studio did I begin a new painting of the ships? Of course not,   instead I fell back into the sea.
Ahhhh.... painting in Maine is so full of difficult choices.
